Marize Helmy, Esq. is a Partner at Michael A. Manna and Associates. She has been practicing in the areas of on Estate Planning, Trusts, Medicaid, Real Estate, Guardianships and Estate Litigation for The Manna Helmy Law Group, P.C. since 2006 as a paralegal and since 2012 as an attorney. Marize received her Bachelor's degree from Fordham University, prior to obtaining her Juris Doctor from SUNY at Buffalo, although her practical knowledge was gained from her experience outside of the classroom.
Assessing a client's goals is a special skill and Marize is keen on creating an asset protection plan specific to a client's needs, whether it be securing and affording the right long term care plan, sheltering assets, reducing death taxes, establishing supplemental needs trusts, or simply preparing a basic estate plan, she is proficient in these areas. She is also versed in complex tax planning using irrevocable grantor trusts. In addition, she has submitted hundreds, if not thousands of Medicaid applications to various Boards of Social Services throughout the state.
Outside of the office, Marize and her husband live in Franklin Lakes with their three kids and two dogs. In her spare time, she teaches Social Workers for their continuing education and also speaks at various support groups and organizations on topics of Elder Law, Estate Planning, Ethical Concerns for the Elderly, Guardianships. She is a volunteer treasurer of her church and volunteers for various charities as she has various philanthropic goals.
